Airtel users looking for affordable recharge options may have noticed a major change in recent months.

The company has discontinued several prepaid plans, making some long-term recharges more expensive.

For users who want unlimited 5G data, Airtel’s cheapest 28-day prepaid plan now costs ₹349.

Plans with 56-day and 84-day validity can cost more than ₹800 and ₹900, respectively.

Because of these higher prices, Airtel’s postpaid family plans may now offer better value, especially for households with two or more Airtel users.

Airtel ₹699 Postpaid Plan for Two Users

If two people in your family use Airtel SIM cards, the ₹699 postpaid family plan could be worth considering.

The plan supports two mobile connections and offers unlimited calling along with unlimited 4G and 5G data on both numbers.

Users also get access to Airtel’s 5G slicing feature, which is designed to provide faster speeds and better network performance.

The plan also comes with additional benefits, including a 6-month Amazon Prime subscription, 1-year JioHotstar Mobile subscription and 100GB Google One cloud storage.

For a family with two Airtel users, these extra benefits can make the postpaid option more attractive than maintaining separate prepaid recharges.

₹1,199 Plan Covers Four Airtel Numbers

Families with four Airtel users have another option.

Airtel’s ₹1,199 monthly family postpaid plan allows four mobile numbers to be used under the same plan.

All four connections get unlimited calling and unlimited 4G and 5G data.

The plan also includes 5G slicing benefits, along with a 6-month Amazon Prime subscription and 1-year JioHotstar Mobile subscription.

For a family where everyone already uses Airtel, managing four connections under one plan could be more convenient than doing separate prepaid recharges every month.

Can You Change Your Prepaid SIM to Postpaid?

Yes. Airtel users do not necessarily need to get a new number to switch to postpaid.

Existing prepaid users can request a prepaid-to-postpaid conversion through the Airtel Thanks app.

This means you can keep your existing mobile number while changing the type of connection.

Is Postpaid Worth It for a Single Airtel User?

If you are the only Airtel user in your household, switching to postpaid may not save you money.

Airtel’s postpaid plans start at ₹449 per month, and GST is applicable.

Therefore, a single user may find prepaid plans more suitable depending on their data and calling needs.

The biggest advantage of Airtel postpaid appears to be for families with two or more Airtel connections, where multiple numbers can be combined into a single family plan.

Before switching, users should compare the total monthly cost of their current prepaid recharges with the postpaid family plan and its included benefits.
