Students belonging to the OBC, EBC, and DNT categories can now apply for the PM Yashasvi Top Class Education in College Scholarship Scheme for the 2026-27 academic session.

The Central Government has started the online application process through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Eligible students can submit their applications until August 31, 2026. The scheme aims to help meritorious students from economically weaker families continue their higher education without financial stress.

Important Dates You Should Know

According to District Backward Classes Welfare Officer Lavesh Kumar Sisodia, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has allotted scholarship seats for selected educational institutions across the country.

Here are the key dates:

Application Start Date: June 1, 2026

Last Date to Apply: August 31, 2026

Institute Verification: September 15, 2026

Final Ministry Verification: November 30, 2026

Students are advised to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or missing documents.

Scholarship Benefits Under PM Yashasvi Scheme

The PM Yashasvi Scheme offers financial support under four different categories.

1. Pre-Matric Scholarship

How to Apply for PM Yashasvi Scholarship

Applying through the National Scholarship Portal is simple.

Step 1

Visit the National Scholarship Portal.

Click on New Registration.

Read the instructions and complete the registration.

You will receive a User ID and Password.

Step 2

Log in using your User ID and Password.

Select the PM Yashasvi Scholarship.

Fill in the application form.

Upload the required documents and submit the application.

After submission, your educational institution will verify the application online. It will then be verified by the state government before final approval.
