Banks to Stay Closed on Many Days in March

The month of March is about to start, and a new list of bank holidays will also come into effect. Many festivals, including Holi, will be celebrated during this month.

If you have any important banking work, it is better to first check which days banks will remain closed.

Because of festivals and regular weekly holidays, banking services may be affected on several days in different states and cities. So, before visiting a bank branch, make sure to review the holiday list carefully.

Bank Holidays for Holi and Other Festivals

Banks will remain closed in Kanpur and Lucknow on March 2 for Holika Dahan.

On March 3, banking services will be affected in Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi,

and Vijayawada due to festivals such as Dol Jatra, Dhulandi, and Holika Dahan.

On March 4, banks will stay closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Jammu, New Delhi, Raipur, Shillong, and Shimla for Holi.

In addition, banks in Aizawl will be closed on March 13 because of the Chapchar Kut festival.

Other Important Bank Closures in March

Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on March 17 for Shab-e-Qadr.

On March 19, banking services will be affected in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Imphal, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, and Vijayawada due to Gudi Padwa, Telugu New Year’s Day, and the first Navaratri.

On March 20, banks will stay closed in Jammu, Srinagar, Kochi, Trivandrum, and Vijayawada because of Ramzan and Jumat-ul-Vida.

On March 21, banks across the country will remain closed for Ramadan-Eid and Sarhul, except in Kochi, Vijayawada, Trivandrum, and Shimla.

Banks will also be closed on March 26 in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Ranchi for Ram Navami.

Additionally, many cities will observe bank holidays on March 27 for Ram Navami and on March 31 for various local reasons.

If you live in any of these cities, it is advisable to check the holiday list before visiting your bank. This will help you avoid inconvenience and unnecessary trips to a closed branch.
