Millions of EPFO subscribers may soon get a major digital upgrade.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is preparing to launch an AI-powered chatbot on WhatsApp, making it easier for users to access important PF services without logging into multiple portals.
According to official sources in the Labour Ministry, the new AI chatbot is expected to be launched within the next month.
The service will allow subscribers to check their PF balance, claim status, monthly contributions, interest details, and much more directly through WhatsApp.

PF Services Will Be Available on WhatsApp
The upcoming AI chatbot will work much like the customer support chatbots used by banks.
Instead of visiting the EPFO website or UAN portal, subscribers will simply be able to send a message on WhatsApp and receive instant information.
To use the service, subscribers must have:
A mobile number registered with their EPF account.
A WhatsApp account linked to the same registered mobile number.
The chatbot will have a dedicated WhatsApp number through which users can access various EPFO services.
What Services Will the EPFO AI Chatbot Offer?
The AI chatbot is expected to provide several important PF-related services, including:
Check your PF account balance.
View monthly PF contributions.
Check the interest credited to your PF account.
Find out when and how much interest was added.
View previous PF account transactions.
Track the status of PF withdrawal claims.
Get updates on complaints or grievances submitted to EPFO.
The aim is to provide subscribers with quick and easy access to essential information without lengthy procedures.
What Is an AI Chatbot?
An AI chatbot is a software program powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.
It can understand users’ questions, process information, and provide responses in a conversational manner.
Using Natural Language Processing (NLP), the chatbot can understand everyday language and respond to queries in multiple languages such as Hindi and English.
As it interacts with more users, it continues to improve its accuracy over time.
Focus on Convenience and Data Security
According to officials, the EPFO chatbot will have secure access to subscriber data so it can provide real-time information quickly while maintaining privacy and security.
The chatbot is expected to function similarly to popular AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, but it will be designed specifically for EPFO services with strong safeguards for user data.
Once launched, the WhatsApp chatbot is expected to make PF-related services faster, simpler, and more convenient for millions of EPFO account holders across the country.
