If you use EPFO’s online services, you’ll have to wait a little longer.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced that its online services, which were expected to resume on June 29, will now be restored from July 1, 2026.

The temporary disruption is due to a planned database consolidation and software upgrade aimed at making EPFO services faster, more secure, and more reliable.

Why Are EPFO Services Unavailable?

EPFO suspended access to its Member Portal, Employer Portal, and UMANG App services from June 26, 2026 as part of a scheduled system migration.

According to the organisation, the upgrade is intended to improve claim processing, enhance service delivery, and provide a better user experience.

During this period, members and employers cannot log in to the online portals, and several digital services remain unavailable.

Which EPFO Services Are Affected?

Until the migration is complete, users will not be able to access several important online services, including:

Online PF claim submission and processing

ECR (Electronic Challan-cum-Return) filing

UAN linking for new employees

e-Passbook download

Other services available through the Member and Employer portals

Members who need assistance during this period can contact the EPFO helpline at 14470.

What About Pending PF Claims?

EPFO has clarified that claims submitted before the migration began will not be cancelled or rejected.

However, processing may take longer than usual.

Any pending claims will be processed once the upgraded system becomes operational from July 1, 2026.

EPF Interest Rate Remains at 8.25%

In a separate update, the Central Government has approved an 8.25% interest rate on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for FY 2024-25, the same rate offered in the previous financial year.

The interest amount is expected to be credited to the accounts of EPFO members soon.

Earlier this year, the EPFO’s Central Board of Trustees decided to retain the 8.25% interest rate, and the proposal has now received approval from the Ministry of Finance.

How to Check Your PF Balance

Once services resume, EPFO members can check their PF balance and interest credit through multiple channels, including:

EPFO Member Portal

UMANG App

SMS service

Missed call facility

Members are advised to wait until the system migration is completed before trying to access these online services.
