As part of this effort, special loan camps will be organised in all districts from February 6 to March 12.

These camps aim to provide instant approval of business loans under major central government schemes.

The initiative is being led by the Industries Department, and around 2.5 lakh people are expected to benefit.

Which Schemes Are Covered in These Camps?

Loans will be approved under three major central government schemes:

Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Industries Upgradation Scheme (PMFME)

Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

PM Vishwakarma Yojana

In addition, loans under other schemes of the Bihar Industries Department will also be processed.

Applications will be checked and approved directly at the camps to speed up the process.

How Will These Loan Camps Work?

Camps will be organised in every district of Bihar.

Officials from the Industries Department, district administration, Jeevika groups, and senior bank officials will be present.

Their role is to verify applications on the spot and ensure that eligible applicants receive quick loan approvals for starting their businesses.

PMEGP: Loan Up to ₹50 Lakh With Subsidy

Under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), youth can start micro, small, or medium enterprises in urban or rural areas.

Key benefits include:

Subsidy up to 35 percent

Women, persons with disabilities, and candidates from SC, ST, and OBC categories are eligible for higher subsidy benefits.

A Big Push for Self-Employment in Bihar
