EPFO Begins PF Interest Credit Process
According to a recent EPFO circular, the Central Government has approved an 8.25% interest rate under Section 60(1) of the EPF Scheme for FY 2025-26.
After receiving this approval, EPFO has directed all regional offices to start depositing the interest amount into members’ PF accounts.
The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) had approved the 8.25% interest rate in March.
The proposal was then sent to the Ministry of Finance, which gave its final approval in June.
This is also the third consecutive year that EPFO has maintained the PF interest rate at 8.25%.
New System Upgrade to Speed Up Payments
EPFO has recently completed a major database integration and software upgrade.
Earlier, it often took one to two months for interest to be credited to all members’ accounts.
With the upgraded system, the transfer process is expected to be much faster, allowing millions of subscribers to receive their interest without long delays.
