Watching live stock market videos on YouTube or Instagram has become common. Many creators claim to be trading experts

and tell people which stocks to buy or sell, when to enter or exit a trade, and what target price a stock may reach.

However, market regulator SEBI has warned investors not to blindly trust such trading advice shared on social media.

Many Trading Experts May Not Be Registered

According to SEBI, some people are offering live trading tips and investment strategies during market hours without being registered.

They often share entry and exit points, trading positions, and target prices while showing their own profits to attract viewers.

These live sessions are watched by thousands of investors, and many people also exchange trading advice through the live chat. SEBI says investors should be careful, as not everyone giving advice is legally allowed to do so.

SEBI Rules on Market Data

SEBI has made it clear that anyone offering investment advice must be registered with the regulator.

The regulator also said that market data can be used only for investor education and awareness if it is at least 30 days old. Such content should not include future price predictions or recommend buying or selling any stock.

What Should Investors Do?

SEBI has advised investors to avoid making investment decisions based on live trading tips seen on social media.

Before following any market expert, always check whether they are registered with SEBI.

For investment advice, rely only on SEBI-registered professionals or trusted financial institutions instead of getting influenced by videos showing big profits.
