There is good news for millions of EPF account holders. The government has approved the annual interest payment for Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts, and the money could be credited soon.
According to reports, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) may start transferring interest to members’ accounts within June.
Employees are advised to keep checking their PF balance to see whether the interest amount has been added.

EPF Interest Rate Remains at 8.25%
The government has approved an interest rate of 8.25% on EPF deposits for the financial year 2025-26.
The rate was approved during the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) meeting chaired by Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on March 2.
This is the third year in a row that the EPF interest rate has remained unchanged at 8.25%.
Reports suggest that the Labour Ministry may soon give the final instruction to EPFO for crediting the interest amount to millions of subscribers.

Easy Ways to Check Your PF Balance
EPFO provides several simple methods to check your PF balance. If your UAN is linked with your mobile number, you can use any of the following options.
1. Check PF Balance Through SMS
Open the messaging app on your registered mobile number.
Type: EPFOHO UAN ENG
Replace “ENG” with your preferred language code if needed and send the message to the EPFO SMS service.
You will receive your PF account details through SMS.
2. Check PF Balance Through Missed Call
Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
The call will disconnect automatically after a few rings. Shortly after, you will receive an SMS containing your PF balance details.
3. Check PF Balance Using the UMANG App
Download and open the UMANG app on your smartphone.
Go to “All Services” and search for EPFO.
Select “Employee-Centric Services” and click on “View Passbook.”
Enter your UAN and verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Your PF balance and passbook details will then be displayed.
4. Check PF Balance Online
Visit the EPFO Member Passbook portal.
Log in using your UAN, password, and captcha code.
After logging in, select your PF account from the list.
You will be able to view your complete PF balance, contribution details, and interest information.
