According to reports, this new facility is likely to start by the end of May.

The move is expected to make PF withdrawals much faster and easier for crores of employees across the country.

According to the EPFO dashboard, the organization currently has around 7.98 crore members.

Out of these, more than 7.74 crore members have completed Aadhaar-based KYC verification.

The total number also includes over 82 lakh pensioners.

What is EPFO 3.0?

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) introduced EPFO 3.0 last year to upgrade its digital system and improve user experience.

The new platform aims to simplify all PF-related services, including claims, transfers, and withdrawals.

The complete rollout of EPFO 3.0 is expected by mid-2026.

With this upgrade, members are expected to get:

Faster claim settlement

Easy PF balance access

Quick transfer to bank accounts

ATM and UPI withdrawal facility

How PF Withdrawal Through ATM and UPI Will Work

Under the new system, EPFO is expected to issue a special ATM card linked directly to the subscriber’s PF account.

Members will be able to use this card to withdraw PF money from ATMs.

Apart from this, PF balance transfers and withdrawals may also be possible through UPI platforms.

However, there will be awithdrawal limit.

Reports suggest that members may be allowed to withdraw only up to 50% of their total PF balance through ATM or UPI.

Who Can Use This Facility?

To use the new ATM and UPI withdrawal feature, EPFO members must fulfill some important conditions.

Members should have:

An active UAN

Aadhaar linked with UAN

PAN linked with UAN

Bank account details updated

Correct IFSC code linked to the account

Without complete KYC verification, members may not be able to use the facility.

EPFO Settles Record Number of Claims

Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently shared that EPFO settled a record 8.31 crore claims in FY 2025-26.

In comparison, 6.01 crore claims were settled in FY25.

Out of the total claims:

5.51 crore were advance or partial withdrawal claims

More than 71% of advance claims were processed automatically within 3 days

6.68 crore members filed claims without uploading cheque leaves

1.59 crore members linked bank accounts without employer approval

70.55 lakh transfer claims were processed automatically

24.84 lakh transfer requests were completed without employer intervention

These numbers show that EPFO is rapidly moving towards a fully digital and user-friendly system for employees.
